About Us

We're just a family of four living in rural Kansas. Making the most of this time on earth is what we're all about! Except, instead of grand, extravagant trips, we tend to take small getaways that are closer to home. Any family, couple  or person can do these things and arguably make life so much more fun! Stay present, stay curious, stay aware of your surroundings and LOVE LIFE!

Mandy (me): I'm a 40 year old who grew up in WaKeeney, a western Kansas town of under 2,000. I went to college at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa where I received my BA in Corporate Communications. My husband and I own Kettle Coffee, a coffee shop, wine bar and restaurant in Beloit in north central Kansas. I enjoy wine tasting, painting my nails, and live music.

B (the husband/dad): B is a 41 year old who grew up in Pratt, a central Kansas town of around 6,500. He went to college at University of Kansas and graduated from Emporia University with his BA in Education. Eventually he received his Masters in Education at Baker University. He is currently a 6th grade teacher at Beloit Elementary School. He enjoys playing his ukulele, working on his koi pond and beer tasting.

Wakefield (son/brother): Wakefield is our 9-year-old son. He is currently a 4th grader at Beloit Elementary School. He has quite the imagination and can play by himself for hours making up elaborate plot lines with his action figures! He loves to read, play video games, cuddle and play group sports!

Dayne (daughter/sister): Dayne is our 4-year-old daughter. She has kept us on our toes since birth. She's currently in preschool at Beloit Elementary School. She's funny, outgoing, an attention-seeker and full of life! She loves to sing, dance, color and wrestle with her brother!
